Just do it!

I don't believe in luck, I believe in hard work. But the harder I work the more good luck I seem to have!

I had more pictures, but I could not post the last 5 pictures. Hopefully I am not marked down for that!

The Cohort!

When I first came to Central I was a shy guy from a small town that had no more than three stop signs in it. I knew one person that was here already and that was it. Since then I have grown quite a bit. I'm so much more outgoing and am able to have fun with anybody that I'm around. I am leaving this cohort knowing that I have a friend in every single person. I think we were all lucky to have a group like this to go through college together. We are all supportive of each other and have a lot of fun together. My two years at Central have been the best two years of my life. I'm excited to spend another year here, but sad to know that some of the people I have spent the past two years with will be gone. I wish everyone good luck with their future and I know they will succeed in anything they wish to accomplish in life!

Peshastin Climbing Adventure

This was the biggest physical challenge I faced all year. Climbing in Peshastin took a lot of mental and physical toughness. We not only had to deal with the high level of physical exertion, but we had to keep telling ourselves that we could finish the climb and reach just a little higher. The heat made the climbing very difficult. It would reflect off of the rocks and completely drain the body of energy. I climbed for about an hour and a half and went to eat my sandwich, which I came to find out that it had melted in my backpack because of the heat. I powered through the day and was able to complete the advanced level in everything that was offered. It was a great experience and I was very glad that I completed what I did. I had a lot of fun and finished it with a burger and a beer at Gustav's in Leavenworth!

Manashtash Hike

I have always heard of hiking up this and heard it was hard. It was! I was struggling very much going up the hill. I did not enjoy it at all to be honest. It was hard for me to enjoy the sites and talk with my cohort because of how exhausted I was. Once we made it to the top we took a break for about 15 minutes and I became freezing cold because of how sweaty I was and how windy it was. The view was amazing though and it was really cool to be able to sign the log book. The "walk" down was pretty fun though. It was hard just to walk in some spots so I kind of jogged at some points. It was a good experience though and I'm glad that I was able to take part in it!

Push My Bike Up A Hill Day!

I was a little bit nervous going on the bike ride. I was not sure how difficult the hill was going to be and I also was not sure how my bike was going to handle it, since I haven't ridden it in about 10 years! My water bottle holder broke off before we even started the bike ride, so that was the beginning of a long day. The start of the bike ride was pretty tough too, considering I pushed my bike up the very beginning of the bike ride because I could not make it up the hill! I did a lot of that on the way up the hill.

On the way down the hill I really enjoyed the ride and had a great time. The weather was great and the scenery was just as good. At the very end up the ride we ran into a flock of sheep, which was interesting. Apparently Carl almost ran into one and then crashed.

Honor's Camp

Honors Camp weekend was a tough weekend for me. As Sean McNulty and I were driving up to the camp I got a call from my mom about half way there. My Grandpa was in the emergency room and was close to dieing. This was a real shock to me and I didn't handle it to well once I got up to camp. I ended up leaving and going home to handle the situation with him. The camp sounded like it was a lot of fun and it would have been cool to experience it. However, throughout the following few days I received multiple texts and emails asking how I was and asking how my Grandpa was from the members of my cohort. It was really nice to have that support and to know that people cared!

Geocaching

Today was a fun day. We got to go throughout campus and pick our own spot to hide our bag of goodies. My group chose to hide our bad in the Japanese Garden. We put it into a tree.

We were able to walk all around campus. I found out about spots and buildings that I never even knew about. We should have done this activity on the first day that I came to Central!

Honors Camp Presentations

We all had to get dressed up and looking good for this day. We did that to the utmost! We were all looking good and dressed to impress. However, once I walked into the room I realized that myself and Sean C. had the exact same attire on. It's all good though. We sat and listened to everyone's proposals for honor's camp. Our idea was to do a Tye dye activity with the students, once we got up there. It was going to be pretty fun, but we ended up not being able to do that. We all did a good job that day and were able to get done fairly soon too!

Frisbee Skills

Frisbee is actually pretty fun. You would not think that it's fun, but there are so many different activities that you can do with a Frisbee. I think my favorite activity with a Frisbee is probably FOLF! That is Frisbee golf. I also really enjoyed Ultimate Frisbee as well. You get more of a workout doing Ultimate, but I think that FOLF is more fun. It's more of a leisure activity. They have courses all around and it's a pretty big thing in certain area's. They are more popular in "hippie" area's, but I think they are fun.

Archery/Biking at Doc's House!

This was an interesting day. First of all I drove myself and Tiffany out to his house, but we got lost a couple times. We went past the road that we were supposed to take, but we were not the only ones. We finally made it to his house and we were the last ones I'm pretty sure. We started the day figuring out how our bike's even worked, considering this was the first time in about seven years that I have even rode a bike. After that we rode around the track that he has at his house. That thing was really challenging. I could not do it that well. The biking was not that enjoyable for me. I liked archery a lot though. I found that I was pretty good at it and enjoyed doing the target practice with the other people in my class.

Traverse Climb

I never thought that a 10 foot tall climbing wall could be so challenging. I found that towards the end of climbing on this traverse wall that my arms were as sore as they ever have during this class. We had to climb along the wall, which was really fun. It was really good practice for what we were going to endure at the High School and on the climbing trip near Leavenworth. We got to pick our own route to take with our group and had to make everyone else complete that route. My group got the inclined wall and not many groups could complete it.

Inline Skating!

I haven't done Inline Skating since I was a little kid. I remember I used to skate around my house all the time with my hockey stick and my "Mighty Ducks" jersey on yelling "Quack, Quack, Quack" as loud as I could. I know a few of you did that as well....hopefully! What I experienced with this class was a little different. I don't remember thinking I was going to fall as much when I was younger. I also don't remember wearing as much gear. It was good to be able to start from the basics in the field house. I really enjoyed the obstacle course that we had to go through. It was challenging, but manageable at the same time. I had fun doing it and I am looking forward to the challenge of getting advanced in this skill.

Circus Arts!

Circus Arts. Oh man, this has been a challenge. I think out of all the different activities this was toughest that I had to do. I don't mean that it was the most physically challenging, but as far as the amount of effort and time that I put into this it was definitely the most. I learned how to do all of this different things this quarter in a relatively short amount of time. I was very surprised that I was even able to do the uni cycling. Juggling, flower sticks, and the diablo were also very challenging. I was really glad that I was able to do all of these different skills. It was incredibly rewarding when I finished them too!

Golf!

Golf is a sport that I really enjoy a lot. I was really excited when I found out that we were going to the Ellensburg Golf Course to go golfing. Unfortunately, the weather was terrible and we were not able to attempt much golfing. This was the first day of this class, so that was a bit of a let down. It was windy and it actually snowed quite a bit as well. Briggs showed us as much as he could about golf in the indoor snack shop area on the carpet! We were able to go out and hit a bucket of balls, but had to come back inside because of the weather. When we were out there hitting the balls Carli went to go get a ball and Tiffany somehow managed to hit her in the back with a golf ball! It was the highlight of the day!

Movement 3 Day 1

When I entered the class and found out about the class, I was nervous! This class seems like a lot of fun, but a lot of work. I was worried that I would not be able to balance my other classes with this one because of the amount of time I had to spend on this class. Now that I have gotten into the groove of the quarter, everything has slowed down for me. The class now seems manageable, which allows me to enjoy it more!
